HOW ARE ANGELS SELECTED?

Families are approved through an application process and have demonstrated financial hardship or crisis. Many participate in free or reduced-price lunch programs or receive TANF or SNAP benefits, and are living at or below the poverty line. Most of the families we serve currently reside in New York City’s shelter system.  

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO SPONSOR AN ANGEL?

Once you contact us, you will be assigned a Wish List for a child or senior. If you accept a Wish List you agree to purchase all three requested items. You can also shop online with our gift registries.

CAN I BUY THINGS THAT AREN’T ON THE WISH LIST?

Yes, you can absolutely include more if you’ve already fulfilled the original Wish List. Useful extras include socks, pajamas, blankets, coat, hat, gloves, and batteries.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO SPONSOR A WISH LIST?

On average, it costs approximately $100 to fulfill a Wish List.

WHAT IS OUR ANGEL TREE GIFT REGISTRY?

Our Angel Tree Gift Registry features pre-selected items chosen directly from our Angel’s Wish Lists. Anything you purchase ships straight to us — making it as simple as “add to cart.” This helps us reach even more Angels every year.

ARE WE PART OF THE SALVATION ARMY?

No. The Salvation Army provides us with Wish Lists and all gifts are given directly to the Angels. No gifts or monetary donations are given to The Salvation Army.
